Jason Hammel extended his scoreless innings streak to 25 1/3 by pitching 7 1/3 shutout innings. He also laid down a squeeze bunt in the 2nd inning and the Rockies won 2-0 over the Milwaukee Brewers. Cooper celebrated his first trip to Coors Field by peeing through his outfit and the "Chicco" carrier Mel had him in. As a result mel and Coop missed Brad Hawpe's triple in the bottom of the first that scored the Rockies first run.
We sat in the Upper deck section U335 (funny b/c we were in U334 for Game 4 of the 2007 World Series). The section was filled with staff from the school Mel works at, which was very cool to sit hang out with everybody in perfect Colorado summer weather and watch a win.
Cooper was a big fan of the 7th inning stretch and the crowd singing. Coors Field sings the traditional "Take me out to the Ballgame" then "Hey Baby" by DJ Otzi. Cooper loved it.
With 2 outs in the 7th, there were runners on 2nd and 3rd for the Brewers and 2 strikes on Jonathan Lucroy, the crowd stood and cheered. This re-energized Chase as he was just about to nod off. Chase was able to see Rafael Betancourt get the strike out and watched the crowd go nuts. He loved it...this time.
The crowd again was on their feet with one strike to go in the 9th inning. When Corpas struck out Weeks to end the game, the crowd erupted. This time, Chase got scared and screamed and cried. I figured he was upset there was no more baseball, but then I realized, he was watching the rows of fans behind us and when the game ended everyone cheered and threw their hands up and celebrated. Pretty scary if you think about it from his perspective.
He ultimately calmed and we walked down closer to the field to get a snapshot of the boys first Rockies game. The scoreboard says "Rockies Win!" and the linescore.

Chase and Cooper are 1 for 1, and have yet to see an opponent score at Coors. They also got to see Ken Macha (Brewers manager) get run for arguing a call. I'm thinking we should get season tickets courtesy of the Rockies, and keep this rolling.
